Jobs With Illinois PIRG
Every day, whether it’s in Washington, D.C., a state capitol, or a corporate boardroom, someone is making a decision that will affect all of us – it could be about our health, our safety, or our democracy. Special interest groups spend billions of dollars to influence these decisions. Someone needs to speak for the public interest. That’s what we do.
Right now, we’re working on everything from reducing the overuse of antibiotics in the food industry to defending consumer protections on Wall Street. We don’t see these issues as liberal or conservative. They’re just problems we shouldn’t tolerate in this day and age. And we’re willing to work with everybody we can to solve them.
This non-partisan, result-oriented approach works. We have a 45-year track record of winning hundreds of new laws and other policies, making the lives of people in states across the country healthier, safer and more secure.
As part of U.S. PIRG, the national federation of state PIRGs, applicants for a position with Illinois PIRG are also eligible for positions with other state PIRGs in our network. At our online jobs center you can find out more about all our positions including:

Illinois PIRG CAMPAIGN STAFF
Are you ready to help build the grassroots power it takes to stand up to special interests and give the public a voice? For years, Illinois PIRG has won real victories to protect our democracy, our health and safety, and our financial wellbeing. Yet we still face enormous challenges, from a flood of big money in our democracy, to protecting public health by keeping our antibiotics safe and effective. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Fund for the Public Interest to help us bring together thousands of like-minded students and activists to work on campaigns to win real progress for the public. We need people like you to go out into communities to talk with citizens about the issues, raise money, and build membership. You will also have the opportunity to work with the media, build coalitions and mobilize community activists. Positions are available in state, as well as in more than 50 offices across the country.
